The Weaverville Waves continued their strong swim season with only 29 swimmers and an amazing third-place finish at the North Valley Aquatic Championship Swim Meet this past weekend, Aug. 2-4. The last time the Waves placed in the top three in this championship meet was 2012.

High point winners for their age groups were: Jonah Jaramillo, first place, in the boys 6 and under division; Mattie Dresselhaus, second place, in the 7 and 8 girls division; Isaac Faulkner, tied third place, in the 7 and 8 boys division; Kailey Cameron, second place, in the 11 and 12 girls division; Brad MacLaren, second place, 17 and 18 boys division.

The swimmers that helped bring the team to this finish were Gayle Blackwell, Isabelle Blackwell, Joshua Blackwell, William Blackwell, Emma Cameron, Kailey Cameron, Peyton Cameron, Olive Crow, Carver Dresselhaus, Mattie Dresselhaus, Wes Dresselhaus, Tesla Ehlerding, Eli Faulkner, Isaac Faulkner, Penelope Faulkner, Jonah Jaramillo, Noah Jaramillo, Brad MacLaren, Angie McCullah, Emi Milam, Olivia Moser, Quinn Moser, Breanne Nevling, Bodie Nugent, Charlie Peralez, Ethan Pike, Taylor Rhein, Aiden Sheen and Jayden Wilson.
