The 2023 LaGrange Classic Mountain Bike Race in Weaverville will be held on Saturday, June 3. Three courses of approximately 30, 22 and 14 miles will be the sites of a traditional one-day race. Event organizers, the Trinity Trail Alliance, are looking forward to presenting a pre-race downtown procession, a challenging one-day mountain bike race on the Weaver Basin Trail System and a celebration at Lowden Park in the afternoon.
Racers will enjoy an uphill push on the Browder Trail and downhill thrills on the Blue Lead Trail, challenging single track through the forest, wide open courses through the oak woods and the beautiful scenery throughout the area. Trinity Trail Alliance provides a multitude of inspiring trail possibilities within these courses. Mountain bike enthusiasts may sign-up for a race, purchase T-shirts and reserve campsites at Bikereg.com beginning Feb 1.
Early registration ($75 adults and $65 youth, 18 and under) ends April 15 and includes a free T-shirt, food coupon and drink coupon. Regular registration ($85 adults and $75 youth) begins April 16 and ends May 21, and includes food and drink coupons. Late registration ($95 adults and $85 youth) begins May 22 and ends June 1, and includes food and drink coupons.
Lowden Park will again be the location for fun weekend activities and camping, along with the awards ceremony after the race. Each year TTA has made efforts to improve the park event. The Trinity Bike Park in Lowden Park will be the venue of the Pump Track Time Trials, for anyone who wishes to try their biking skills “over the humps.” Camping and RV parking will be available in Lowden Park during the race weekend for mountain bike racers.
TTA works in coordination with the U.S. Forest Service and other community services and organizations to make the best race event possible. This event is operating under a special uses permit with the Shasta-Trinity National Forest.
