The Trinity High School girls basketball team lost 53-41 to Biggs High School in the Northern Section CIF Div. 5 championship game at Butte College Friday evening, Feb. 22.

The Lady Wolves now move into the Div. 5 state playoffs, seeded 13th. They are scheduled to be on the road at No. 4-seeded Cloverdale (25-5, 14-0 and winners of the North Central I League) at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26.

Against No. 1-seeded Biggs, Trinity fell behind 19-6 in the first quarter and was unable to pull within single digits the remainder of the game.

Trinity (15-16, 5-5) was seeded seventh entering the playoffs, and had to put together road wins over No. 2 Hamilton (a 43-34 victory) and then No. 6 Modoc (56-52) before facing Biggs for the section championship.

Biggs is now 26-1 on the season and also moves on to the state playoffs. The Wolverines were 10-0 in league and Mountain Valley League champion.
