Harper named to All-State second team
Trinity High School’s Lauren Harper made the 2019 Senior Girls MileSplitCA All-State Second Team.
Harper placed sixth at the state championships in the 800 meters with a personal record of 2:10.98. That time ranks CA No. 2 in the class and CA No. 6 overall.
Harper, headed to San Diego State, is a three-time Northern Section champion and two-time state qualifier in the 800, two-time Northern Section champion for 1600m and former state championship qualifier for 400 meters.

Since the first induction 10 years ago there has been 91 individual athletes and 18 coaches inducted into Trinity High School’s Sports Hall of Fame while 18 men’s and women’s teams and 10 vital support individuals have rounded out the selection numbers.
This year nine individual athletes, a 1970’s championship team, a support individual along with an integral women’s program of the ‘60s thru late ‘70s will be announced as the latest selections at the Alumni Day in Park this Saturday. The nine former Trinity athletes include five men and four women grouped from the 1960s to 2006.
This year the annual Sports Hall of Fame Dinner will be held Saturday, Oct. 5, beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Trinity Alps Restaurant and Golf Course in Weaverville, the day after Trinity’s Homecoming game.
Youth football camp July 31
The Trinity Wolves Youth Football Camp is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, at Mike Polka Field on the Trinity High School campus.
This camp will be directed by Varsity Coach Scott Merryman, Mike Garcia and George Debono. Instruction will consist of Trinity High School football staff and players.
This camp is for students who will be in grades 5 to 9 during the 2019-2020 school year.
Fundamentals and individual skill development will be emphasized and stressed utilizing a variety of individual and team drills. Teamwork will be developed in game play and competitions.
