Heartbreak in Trinity County as one of God’s creatures dies

Posted: Wednesday, September 26, 2012 6:15 am

Apparently your precious car was more important to you than one of God’s creatures that you just hit, a fawn. You smashed its delicate frail young body to the side of the road and just drove off not caring whether it was dead or alive. It was not.

When I came upon it it could no longer stand but was sitting upright, shaking, in shock and pain. I stopped my car, like you could have done, and walked back to it in the dark and in my flashlight’s beam it looked up to me with it big terrified eyes not knowing what I would do. I tried to calm it and stroked its head and body to see the extent of its injuries.
