I support the Journal’s Jan. 6 editorial “Time to put more effort into shopping local” and urge all my neighbors and friends to make this a top priority. The impact of spending dollars locally is immediate.

The need is urgent, why not make an ongoing commitment to invest in the community we call our home?

So here’s a challenge for those of you who have weathered the recent 11-month storm and find yourself in fairly good condition. How about investing 100 percent of your stimulus check to stimulate Trinity County? You can donate to one of the many local nonprofits OR you can spend on goods and or services offered by our local retailers/sellers. Just be sure to tell them “Stimulus Bucks — thanks for being here.”

We are the keepers of our community economy. Let’s tend to the business of being a great place to live, love, work and play by supporting one another. We are worth the effort!
