As a concerned citizen of Trinity County, I am alarmed at Trinity PUD raising rates.

General Manager Paul Hauser’s mismanagement and poor planning should not be OUR responsibility to pay back. At an estimated 25% monthly bill increase (over five years) per customer!

His association with TAA (a clear conflict of interest) and not selling power to customers willing, ready and able to pay… Why are we paying for his poor planning?

To add insult to injury, at the last TPUD board meeting he negotiated a pay raise. Records show he already gets paid close to $20k a month.

With a history of wild spending both here and at Redding Electric Utility, when is enough? No-bid $3 million contracts awarded to Aspen Environmental Group, all on TPUD rate payers dime! Completely unethical, in my opinion.

No rate hikes before a thorough investigation into Hauser’s wild spending!
