Hello and blessings to everyone from the federal penitentiary. My name is Gary Reed Massey and I’m 27 years old. Currently serving a term for a bank robbery.
It may seem strange as to why I’m writing your local paper, but I figured I’d introduce myself to the community before I get out and reside in beautiful Weaverville with my fiancé. So here I am, two years from the gates that confine me, hoping to put at rest any future negativity that may arise. I am a man who knowingly pleaded guilty to my mistake and am serving my time with my head held high.
The U.S. Army gave me seven values that I live by — loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity and personal courage. Though I now have a criminal background, I am a veteran and have served my country proudly and will do it again and again.
I have many plans for when I get out; employment, church and family, “the foundation to turn those plans into success.” It will take some time to adapt back into society after five years in a maximum security penitentiary but I have faith that the lord above will guide me and be with my partner and I every step of the way.
Thanks for reading. If anyone has any questions my information is: Gary Massey 39028-479
