I am disgusted with the mismanagement of wildfire resources in California, specifically Northern California. The stories that have come out of this year’s fires have sparked an anger in me that boils.

I have a cabin in Coffee Creek and just the Coffee Creek mismanagement and backfire story is a “poster boy” for what’s wrong. I am by no means extensively informed, but I’ve heard enough from former Forest Service employees and neighbors to know that something’s not right.

As long as Gov. Gavin Newsom is pointing fingers and scoring cheap political points rather than revamping the way the state deals with these recurring problems they will continue to exist until the entire state is charred black.

I’d like to know how private citizens can get involved in changing this. Count me in!
