William A. Shafer passed away Nov. 2, 2019, in Homer, Alaska, due to complications from a stroke. He was 73.

He was born Sept. 15, 1946, in Red Bluff, Calif., and came to Trinity County from Red Bluff in 1960. He worked as a carpenter.

William is survived by sons Matt Shafer and William Shafer, granddaughter Michelle Harris and one great-grandson. Also survived by brother Cliff Shafer and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father Harold Shafer, mother Dorothy Shafer and sister Carol Crooker.

At William’s request there will be no services.
