Joseph Baudizzon

Joseph “Joe” Baudizzon, 86, a resident of Weaverville for many years, died on Dec. 2, 2019, at his home.

Joe was born on July 12, 1933, in Santa Paula, Calif. He spent his early years in Santa Paula before serving in the United States Navy from 1957-1961. During this time he married his beloved Virginia in 1958.  

Following his service in the Navy he returned to Santa Paula where he worked in the orchards.  Shortly after he began a career with Caltrans, first in Southern California, and transferred to Weaverville in 1967. He retired as a foreman for Caltrans in 1986. During his years in Weaverville he was active in all of the activities of his children. He was a Master Mason for most of his adult life and a proud member of Trinity Lodge #27, F. & A.M.

He is survived by his loving wife, Virginia; his children, Joe Baudizzon of Redding, Jamie Baudizzon of Weaverville, and Donna Wetterstrom of Douglas City; a sister, Charlotte Cundiff, of Santa Barbara, Calif.; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

A graveside inurnment will be held at 9 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 12, at the Weaverville Masonic Cemetery. Members of Trinity Lodge #27 will officiate.

Arrangements are by Trinity Alps Funeral Home in Weaverville.
