Curt M. Connor

Our dad, Curt Michael Connor, was born on March 27, 1964, to Glenda and Michael Connor. He spent his childhood in Days Creek, Ore., before his family moved to Hayfork where he finished school.

He was a hard worker who spent his life working with his hands. He was a logger, co-gen operator, mechanic, commercial fisherman, heavy equipment operator and farmer. His rough and calloused hands were an outward reflection of the “tough as nails” man he was. Examples of this attribute include him lifting a car engine by himself, driving home after cutting his leg with a chainsaw, and removing a tattoo with a “sterile” Dremel.

His love for music wound through his life; we all have memories of him belting out the lyrics to Lynyrd Skynyrd or 38 Special. His twin boys lived out one of his dreams when they formed the band, Souls Torn; he was their No. 1 fan, showing up to band practice to dance and drink Crown Royal or smoke his home grown.

Along with his passion for music, he also loved hunting, and kept a freezer full of venison and bear. His full body mount of his record setting black bear took up our entire living room growing up; furniture had to be arranged around it. We dragged that damned thing around from house to house for years until it was eventually eaten by crows.

Our dad’s tragic car accident on the night of Thursday, Aug. 12, 2021, is heartbreaking for all of us. The sudden loss of him has left a huge hole in our hearts and lives. We are choosing to cling to God, family and friends through this time.

He is survived by his mother, Glenda Connor; siblings Cecil and Karen Connor; three biological children, Mikki Butler, Mitchell Connor and Marcus Connor, and four stepchildren whom he loved as his own, Benjamin Myers, Sarah Myers-Lower, Stephen Bayley and Michelle Bayley. He also has 11 grandkids and one more on the way.

He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Connor.

As we plan a service to honor his memory, we welcome stories from all of you, and look forward to sharing them together in the near future. Arrangements will be announced on social media in the coming weeks.

We love you Dad,

Mikki, Mitchell and Marcus
