James M. 'Jimmy' Shaw

Long time Lewiston resident Jim Shaw passed on Friday, Sept. 14, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center in Redding after a short illness. He was 57.

Mr. Shaw was born in Montebello, Calif., on June 23, 1955. In his early days he fulfilled his days racing motorcycles and playing various instruments in local bands; he also did studio work for various labels. James moved to Northern California in his early adulthood. Over the past 30 years he split his time between Trinity and Humboldt counties.

During his adult years Jim played in various bands in the Trinity County area; he also worked in small businesses to include the art industry, music, computer/electronics technician and property management. In recent years Jim turned into an accomplished Web site creator, amateur astronomist and avid reader.

Jim often commented that the most valuable item in his wallet was his library card. He loved animals and was very close to his pet wolf and cat. Jim truly touched every person who came into contact with him. He was known as a generous, loveable guy who will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Jim leaves behind many loved friends, bandmates and family, to include his daughters and grandchildren. Good luck in your next adventure, Jimmy.

Arrangements are being handled by Forrest Funeral Home, Weaverville.
