Jacqueline E. Tierney

Jacqueline (Jackie) Elizabeth Tierney was born in Wasco, Calif., in 1928 and passed Friday, Nov. 6, 2020 in Davis, Calif.

She moved to Oakland, Calif., where she met her future husband Robert in middle school. They married at the end of World War II, moving to Fremont, Calif., where Bob taught high school and she became a librarian in the public school system.

Upon retiring, they moved to Trinity County where they had honeymooned to become a part of the community of Douglas City.

Always willing to give back, Jackie did volunteer work and fundraising for the Fire Belles and around their neighborhood of Poker Bar.

She is survived by her three children, three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

As an environmentalist, in lieu of flowers well-wishers are encouraged to donate to the Nature Conservancy (www.nature.org/en-us/) and the Douglas City Fire Belles. (P.O. Box 44, Douglas City, CA 96024).

She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Jackie was a wonderful, genuine and thoughtful person. We all miss her terribly. Hers was a life well lived.
