James W. Nottingham

James Wayne Nottingham of Hayfork passed away in his home on Sept. 20, 2021, at the age of 67.

He was born on Feb. 16, 1954, and served in the Navy from 1972 to 1974 onboard the USS Ranger. He spent much of his life working as a mechanic and enjoyed working on cars, trucks and motorcycles.

James was preceded in death by his parents Jesse and Betty “Jean” Nottingham; two brothers, Gary Nottingham and Johnny Nottingham; a nephew, Jr. Keith Nottingham, and a niece, Debbie Lynn Nottingham.

He is survived by sisters Betty Sue Nottingham of Oklahoma, Charlotte (Jerry) Arndt of Twin Falls, Idaho, Lasaundra G. Nottingham of Texas; brothers Calvin Nottingham and Anthony Nottingham, both of Texas.

He is also survived by children Jesse Nottingham of Louisiana, Joanie Knight (Thomas) of Angie, La., Joseph Tynes (Brit) of Bogalusa, La., and Calvin Nottingham of Hayfork; grandchildren Kana Knight of Angie, La., Toxie “TK” Knight of Angie, La., and Jakoda Nottingham of Eureka, Calif.

And special nieces, Violet Brown (Eric) of Hayfork, and Bobby Polen (Richard Clifton)  of Hayfork. He is also survived by 15 nieces and nephews, 32 great-nieces and nephews, and 22 great-great nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 12:30 p.m. today, Oct. 13, at the Northern California Veteran’s Cemetery in Igo, Calif.
