Firefighters from volunteer fire departments around the county participated Saturday in a vehicle extrication training in Douglas City. Two hours of lecture at the Douglas City Fire Hall was followed by training and practice at Douglas City Garage, where five wrecked cars were opened up with a variety of rescue tools. More than 40 firefighters attended, representing Weaverville, Douglas City, Lewiston, Down River, Trinity Center, Junction City, Hayfork, and Hyampom Volunteer Fire Departments. The departments thank the Douglas City Garage for making this critical training possible.
