Highway 299 currently remains under escorted traffic control Downriver during daytime hours for emergency work following the Monument fire in Trinity County, Caltrans reported Sunday morning, Sept. 12.

Current closure points: Near Burnt Ranch (just east of School House Road) to Del Loma (near Angie Lane) in Trinity County. The new eastside closure location is effective as of 7 a.m. this morning.

Current weekday schedule: Traffic will continue to be escorted through the closure every 1.5 hours between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., Monday-Friday. Current opening times are 7 a.m., 8:30 a.m., 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m., 2:30 p.m., 4 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Current weekend schedule (Saturdays and Sundays): Traffic openings at the top of every hour between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Current nighttime schedule (between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. daily): Access for area residents only with proof of residency and emergency personnel. Caltrans asks motorists to arrive at closure points no earlier than 15 minutes prior to opening time.
