Weaverville Volunteer Fire Department

Members of the Weaverville Volunteer Fire Department with their recently purchased equipment.

Recently the Weaverville volunteer firefighters sent a letter to the community requesting monetary donations to replace some vital rescue equipment. Through the tremendous response to this request they have been able to purchase all new sets of rescue rope, including several new firefighter safety harnesses and additional rescue hardware.

The department thanks all members of the community who donated money as a result of their recent request, noting that the support of the community is vital for them to maintain the ability to provide a high level of service.

“The community support in keeping our firefighters safe is very gratifying,” said Vicki Wilson, president of the Weaverville Volunteer Firefighters.

If you are interested in joining the firefighting organization, call 623-6156 or come by the Weaverville Fire Hall on Bremer Street.
