The National Weather Service issued a flash flood watch for the area of Coffee Creek Road and Northern Trinity County in effect today, Aug. 2, from 2 to 9 p.m. In the warning, the NWS stated heavy rainfall could trigger flash flooding in burn scar areas, and possible mud and debris flow along drainages and low-lying areas.

A flash flood watch is not a full flash flood warning. NWS suggests monitoring weather forecasts today and to be prepared to take actions should the flash flood watch change to a full flash flood warning.
