California Highway Patrol officers are still investigating a single vehicle crash near Douglas City that left two county residents with major injuries and where the driver walked away and has not been located. According to a CHP report, two people, Jennifer Brock, 29, of Lewiston and William Tyrone, 30, of Weaverville arrived at Trinity Hospital in Weaverville with major injuries they said they’d sustained in a crash near Douglas City. CHP and Sheriff’s Investigators responded to the reported area of Highway 3, about 3.5 miles south of Deer Lick Springs Road, to find a 2016 Dodge Charger about 200 feet down a ravine.

“Though the involved parties claimed that three parties were in the Charger at the time of the crash, only two showed up at the hospital,” the CHP report stated. “Officers performed a thorough search of the area using a foot search and Forward Looking Infra-Red [cameras], but did not locate the third party claimed to be involved.

The report listed the third party as the driver of the car, adding that the person remained outstanding as of Tuesday morning. Investigators are still trying to determine the person’s identity. Anyone with information is asked to call the Trinity River Area CHP office at 623-3832.
