Kim Hunter announced her resignation as director of the Building and Planning Department Tuesday, Oct. 5, after nearly two years in the position.

The resignation was announced at the Board of Supervisors meeting following the presentation of a certificate of appreciation for Rick Tippett, former director of Building and Planning and the Department of Transportation, upon his retirement.

Hunter will remain in her current position temporarily as she transitions out.

David Colbeck was announced as the interim Deputy Director for the Department of Transportation.

County Administrative Officer Richard Kuhns announced intention to hire a professional recruiting company to “aggressively” fill the two department head positions along with a vacant Cannabis Division Program Manager position.

Aggressively filling the open spots??? I don't think so. It took years to find a new planning director last time and the need for a new DOT director has been anticipated for several years and known for many months. They have to need a cannabis director for almost nine months. I know things move slowly around here, but people are failing to do their jobs and hire/recruit as needed.

Agreed, ironic the county wants to call out the forest service for not doing their job yet can’t do their own.
