Officers have identified the deceased driver of a pickup that went off South Fork Road near Highway 299 last week as Billy Blevins of Salyer.

“On July 22, at approximately 11:11 p.m., CHP Trinity River Area units were dispatched to a call of a solo vehicle traffic collision on South Fork Road about 1 mile south of SR-299,” a CHP release stated. “Upon arrival, it was determined that a 1999 Ford F-250 had driven off the edge of the road and down a steep embankment.”

Blevins, the sole occupant of the truck, was determined to have died as a result of the crash.

His family was notified and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
