The Trinity County Office of Emergency Services in conjunction with Trinity County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting a follow-up test of the CodeRed and Integrated Public Alert Warning System (IPAWS) at 9 a.m. today, Aug. 14. A second test was advised by the Code Red vendor in order to allow them the chance to correct the network timing and switching issues encountered during the previous test, which resulted in some residents not being notified.

OES says it is also important for residents to load the Code Red phone numbers into their cell phone before the test to prevent confusing the test call with a spam or robocall. It is recommended to save the two numbers into a single contact and naming it “CodeRed” or “Emergency Alert.” The two numbers that are used by the system are 866-419-5000 and 855-969-4636.

Residents are also urged to sign up for a CodeRed account, and anyone not receiving the test notification can register for CodeRed at https://public.coderedweb.com/CNE/en-US/BFB7CC4C6C0A or by calling OES at 623-1116 or sending an email to eprestley@trinitycounty.org. Please include name, phone number, cell provider if adding a cell phone, and physical address if leaving a message or sending an e-mail.
