Heavy snowfall caused some issues today as traffic was slowed – and sometimes stopped – by stuck vehicles.
“The tow trucks are really buried,” CHP Officer Eric Nelson said this afternoon. Extra CHP officers have been out.
“Unfortunately, too many rigs are disobeying the chain requirements,” Nelson said, and when they get stuck they force other vehicles to stop and they lose traction.
Requirements in the area are currently R4, meaning vehicles must have chains on or be four-wheel drive or all-wheel drive with snow tires.
