As one of their first orders of business in the new year, Trinity County supervisors elected District 4 Sup. Jeremy Brown of Burnt Ranch to serve as board chairman through 2021 and District 5 Sup. Dan Frasier of Hettenshaw as vice chairman.

The board chairman’s duties include setting agendas for board meetings, running the meetings and representing the county as needed at various government and group functions. The chairman receives a monthly stipend of $100 in addition to the regular salary each member receives.

The selection of chair and vice chair is based on a set rotation of the districts they represent, but a majority vote of board members is required to approve the appointments. The vice chairman is in rotation to become chairman in the following year.

Following the swearing in of three new board members before the first regular meeting of the year on Jan. 5, the chair and vice chairmanship appointments were approved, and the outgoing District 3 Sup. Bobbi Chadwick who served as chair last year presented Sup. Brown with an engraved gavel and well wishes.
