Group, counsel spar over initiative rules

Posted: Wednesday, October 10, 2012 6:15 am

Speaking to the Trinity County Board of Supervisors and an audience of constitutional activists last week, County Counsel Derek Cole attempted to clarify the rules of the voter initiative process as public speakers hurled accusations of misconduct, malfeasance and treason at him, calling for his dismissal.

Board members were also presented with a public records request from Diane Richards of Hayfork, asking for access to and copies of all county budget records, ledgers, business records, financial data, collective bargaining records, personnel expense records and all other financial data pertaining to the county’s expenditures, assets and losses.
