Murder in Hyampom; one arrested

A Hyampom man was fatally shot Monday evening, and a Redding man has been arrested on suspicion of murder in the death, the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

The victim has been identified as Dean Compton of Hyampom, who is the owner of Mountain Outpost mini-mart in Weaverville.
