Irish fire

The Irish fire was reported this afternoon at Jackass Springs, on the east side of Trinity Lake.

Updated 4:30 p.m.: The lightning storms Wednesday evening ignited small fires near Trinity Lake, Hayfork and in Southern Trinity. The Shasta-Trinity National Forest received 152 lightning strikes during this storm.

The following fires were discovered today, Sept. 5:

South Fork Management Unit

Little fire, Yolla Bolla Wilderness, 0.25 acre, in patrol status

Fork fire, southwest of Platina west of Tedoc, 0.25 acre, staffed

Love fire, north of Hayfork near Love Letter Springs, 0.3 acre, crews hiking in

Natural fire, near Natural Bridge, is in a Cal Fire direct protection area

Trinity River Management Unit

East fire, Halls Gulch northeast of Trinity Lake, 0.25 acres

Lady fire, Lady Gulch in the Trinity Alps Wilderness, 1 acre

Lick fire, east of Trinity Lake

Nelson fire, east of Trinity Lake

Cement fire, east of Trinity Lake

Fool fire, west of Trinity Lake, 0.1 acres

Quartz fire, west of Trinity Lake

Slate fire, west of Trinity Lake, 2 acres

Middle fire, northeast of Canyon Creek Trailhead, 0.5 acres

Eastman fire, south of Tunnel Rock

Wagner fire, Billy’s Peak west of Trinity Lake, 0.1 acres

Hatchet fire, east of Poison Canyon

Jake’s fire, Jakes Upper Camp, 0.1 acres

Ranch fire, above Rancheria Creek, 0.2 acres

Cutthroat fire, west of Cutthroat Gulch, 0.1 acres

Swift fire, northwest of Trinity Center
