A community meeting is planned for 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, at the North Fork Grange on Dutch Creek Road in Junction City. The Middle fire east of the Canyon Creek Trailhead in the Trinity Alps Wilderness showed moderate fire behavior yesterday with low rates of spread in timber litter and downed woody debris. A Closure Order is still in effect for areas potentially affected by the Middle Fire, including Ripstein Campground, Canyon Creek Trailhead, Trail 10W03, Trail 10W06, and Trail 10W08 south of Canyon Creek Falls. The fire has burned 357 acres.
The Ramshorn fire is now 100 percent contained and had minimal fire behavior on Sept. 11, consisting of burning down interior woody pockets. This fire is located northeast of Coffee Creek and is burning in the North Fork of Ramshorn Creek north of Forest Road 133. It is 280 acres in size. The primary activity today on the fire is the repair of any suppression damage and removing equipment from the fire.
