Hayfork Transition Clean-Up Day March 6

The Trinity County Resource Conservation District and Hayfork Transition have partnered to host a clean-up day at 541 Riverview Road, Hayfork. The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 6, to continue the Riverview Community Beautification Project.

The event will work to collect trash items scattered throughout the property for removal. Please bring your wheelbarrows, gloves, rakes, water bottles, a cup for hot drinks and a folding chair. Hot beverages and snacks will be provided. Please wear a mask and there is plenty of room for social distancing.

Community Forest meeting set for March 5 via Zoom

Join the Weaverville Community Forest Steering Committee via Zoom at 12:30 p.m. Friday, March 5, to discuss the Resource Conservation District’s progress on the WCF 2021-2028 Strategic Plan Update and its recreation and cultural use objectives. Organizers are planning ample time for discussion, so please bring your thoughts, concerns, ideas, etc.

The WCF Steering Committee is a group of local interested parties, volunteers and agency partner representatives. Anyone interested in the WCF may join at any time for any length. There are no required commitments or participation, elected group officials, or etc.

Cannabis closed

The Trinity County Building, Planning, Environmental Health Departments and Cannabis Division will be closed through Tuesday, March 2, due to COVID-19 protocols. Staff will not be present in the office during this time to respond to emails or telephone calls.

The Planning Commission meeting scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 25, has been canceled due to COVID-19 protocols. All agenda items noticed for public hearing will be continued to a later date to be determined. Cox Town Hall meeting

District 2 Town Hall meetings are scheduled for the second Monday of each month of 2021 from 7 to 8 p.m. via Zoom.

The anticipated panelists for the March 8 meeting are Trinity County Sheriff Tim Saxon, and Velocity Communications founder and CEO, Travis Finch. The Zoom link as well as the process for submitting your questions can be found under the Events tab of Supervisor Cox’s website, www.jillcoxtrinity2.com.

Town Hall meetings are a means by which to gain understanding of the processes and resulting decisions of various county matters as well as an excellent platform for posing specific questions or pointing out general topics of personal concern.
