Firefighters are at the scene of a reported cabin on fire on Washington Street just north of Highway 299 in Weaverville. Scanner traffic indicates that everyone got out. Neighbors said the occupant was taken to the hospital for treatment for smoke inhalation, and a dog was taken to a local animal hospital with injuries thought to be burned paws. Weaverville firefighters had called for mutual aid from Douglas City, but later reported they could handle it on their own. The fire has been knocked down.
