The Weaverville Community Forest Steering Committee invites all interested parties to attend the WCF Annual Community Meeting from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21, at the Trinity Congregational Church, 733 Main St., Weaverville.

Community forest project updates will be presented including wildfire protection fuel reduction projects, Weaver Basin Trail System activities, and the Browns Phase III Timber Harvest.

The Weaverville Community Forest is located within the Wildland-Urban Interface surrounding Weaverville, encompassing 14,963 acres of publically managed lands. Multi-year stewardship agreements between Trinity County Resource Conservation District, the Bureau of Land Management and U.S. Forest Service help direct WCF resource management for multiple uses, such as reducing hazardous fuel, improving overall forest health, and protecting the “viewshed” within the Weaverville Basin.
