Commuters traveling out Highway 3 past the airport in Weaverville are about to see some changes, and of course, delays in the coming months as Caltrans starts work on an improved intersection at Tom Bell Road.

According to a Caltrans District 2 report, Caltrans and Tullis Inc. are readying to install a two-way turn access. The $995,000 project is funded by State Highway Operation and Protection Program and Trinity County.

Work is scheduled to begin Monday, June 29, and delays are expected to be up to 5 minutes. Caltrans says the construction is expected to be complete by mid-August.
