A new infrared flight last night documented the significant growth of the fire in recent days. On Wednesday, the Haypress fire spread aggressively on the northeast and east flanks toward Callahan and Highway 3, and south toward Boulder Lake. Priorities today remain protecting lives and property. A dedicated structure protection group continues reinforcing lines and property protection around Callahan. The Cronan fire is holding and remains in patrol status.

The fire weather watch has been elevated to a RED FLAG WARNING today. Residents are encouraged to follow evacuation orders so they are not putting themselves and firefighters who would work to save them at risk.
