Thirteen special districts in Trinity County saw appointments to governing board vacancies in-lieu of election last month in cases where there were fewer filers than there were vacant seats.

Trinity County special district board member elections occur only in November of even numbered years. When the number of candidates does not exceed the number of offices to be filled, the candidates do not go on the ballot. Instead, the Board of Supervisors appoints those candidates who filed their Declaration of Candidacy by the deadline 83 days prior to the election.

The following candidates filed their paperwork on time and were appointed by the Board of Supervisors during its Nov. 17 regular session for terms beginning Dec. 4.
