A home on Bear Creek Road north of Weaverville was destroyed by fire last Friday, Aug. 16.

Cal Fire Battalion Chief Troy Velin said there were no injuries to civilians or firefighters due to the blaze, which did not spread to vegetation. An advisory CodeRed alert was sent to Bear Creek and Musser Hill residents, but the fire was contained to the residence.

In addition to Cal Fire, the U.S. Forest Service and the Weaverville, Douglas City and Coffee Creek volunteer fire departments responded to the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, Velin said.
