A Lewiston man was served with a warrant and arrested after a team of investigators were able to determine he had child pornography stored on electronic devices in his home.
According to a Sheriff’s Office release, the Trinity County Interagency Major Investigations Team began investigating computer crime, including child pornography, back in March.
While investigating, the team pinpointed suspect Homer Purcell Jr. and obtained a search warrant for his residence this month.
On May 18, investigators served the warrant at Purcell’s home and seized several items, mostly electronics. Purcell was later located and interviewed, where he allegedly admitted to having child pornography on some of his devices.
“Purcell was placed under arrest and transported to the Trinity County Jail,” the Sheriff’s release stated. “Purcell has an earlier conviction for possession of child pornography and remains a registered sex offender within Trinity.”
As of Thursday, Purcell remains in jail on $575,000 bail.
