A man arrested for homicide by Trinity Sheriff’s Detectives after checking into the hospital with gunshot wounds was later released when the District Attorney’s Office determined the killing was justified.
According to a TSCO release, dispatch was notified that a subject was in the hospital with several gunshot wounds at about 9:20 p.m. on Feb. 1.
“Deputies responded to the hospital and contacted Kyle Adamson, ” the release said. “During the contact, it was discovered that Adamson had been involved in an altercation with an individual identified as Adam Heck , during which time both Adamson and Heck had been shot.”
Detectives then went to a marijuana farm, described as being “in the outskirts of Douglas City,” where they found Heck dead, having sustained several gunshot wounds.
“A search warrant was served at the scene of the incident, which yielded significant amounts of evidence,” the release stated. “At the conclusion of the initial investigation, Adamson was arrested for homicide; however, the investigation remains ongoing and as information develops supplemental press releases shall be issued.”
A short TCSO press release Feb. 4 only said the case and been reviewed by the DA’s Office and determined the killing was justifiable. Calls to the District Attorney’s Office requesting the reasoning for the determination were not returned as of press time.
