A Hoopa man was arrested for arson and Humboldt County warrants after deputies responded to suspicious fires in the Burnt Ranch area this past weekend.

On the morning of Saturday, Oct. 1, U.S. Forest Service personnel requested a deputy respond to the area where they detained Ronal J Herren Jr., 33. Herren had three arrest warrants from Humboldt County at the time. According to Sheriff’s Office reports, deputies located evidence linking Herren to fires in the Burnt Ranch and Cedar Flat Road areas over the weekend. He was arrested for the warrants and for suspected arson.
