HAYFORK VALLEY VIEWS Spiril Circus hopes their Community Tapestry Dance and gathering this Friday at Northern Delights will become a monthly community happening. It sounds like a very interesting event, and true to the sponsors’ name, the agenda reads like an indoor circus. It’s a potluck, and all ages are invited to participate in this free family fun. You’re encouraged to bring your own reusable dinnerware and wear your “circus flare.” Drinks and desserts can be bought from Northern Delights. Bring your instruments for Open Mic from 6 to 8 pm., then Auraguame will perform the healing sounds of “omni-organic electronica” from 8 to 10 p m. But wait — you’re not done writing your list for the event yet: don’t forget a “peace” of fabric to add to the community tapestry. Production coordinator Marlene Elliott is the lead, 623-4250. On the third Wednesday of every month, Legal Services of Northern California provides free general legal advice to any Hayforkers over 60. This is a wonderful program, and we want all those who need it to know about it. Paralegal Jan Hollenbach is our Senior Legal Aide, and she comes from Redding to the Roderick Center to provide the services. Appointments are required in advance so Jan can better prepare herself for your particular questions. Legal issues covered run the gamut from general legal advice, family law, simple wills and probate to advanced health care directives, public benefits (Social Security, Medi-Cal, etc.) and debt relief counseling. And that’s just a partial list. We’re fortunate to have this program, and even though it’s free, you’re always welcome to make a donation. Call Roderick for appointments, 628-4692. Don’t forget that April 19 is the deadline to sign up to participate in the Countywide Yard Sale. Forms are in the Journal. When there’s room here, I’ll share one of my original jokes. There were never enough to launch a career in standup, but they’ve been good for some chuckles. For example, I’ve always wondered why we refer to the dearly departed as the “late” so-and-so. Because they’re not just late — let’s face it — they’re not gonna show!
