Lumberjacks split games The Trinity River Lumberjacks baseball team split a pair of games in the 2010 Haiti Earthquake Victims Tournament at Big League Dreams in Redding this past weekend for an early start to their season. In the first game the Lumberjacks played host Redding Tigers and lost 10-5. The Lumberjacks bounced back in their second game, Sunday morning, against the NorCal Pirates and won 11-5, piling up 21 hits. Offensive stars for the Lumberjacks over the weekend included Wes Winn, 3 for 6 with two home runs and two stolen bases; Lance Fox, 4 for 7 with two home runs; Nate Cockburn, 2 for 4 with a stolen base; Kyle Bigham, 2 for 5 with a double; Shane Gillespie, 2 for 5; Jeff Malloy, 1 for 5 with a double. The Redding Tigers won the four-team tournament by beating the Solano Mudcats 9-0. The Lumberjacks are looking for support for the 2010 season. Call Keith Bigham at 623-0892.
