SOUTHERN TRINITY 4-H

BY KODI MILLSAP

We sent more than 560 valentines to the Veterans Home in Yountville with help from our Van Duzen School. This is the fifth year we’ve done this project and we enjoy the letters we get from the veterans in return.

Our club also went to the Northcoast Youth Summit at College of the Redwooods in Eureka. We enjoyed two energized speakers, Betty Chinn and Ross Mackinney who inspired us to Connect for a Cause. We had a large choice of workshops. I went to one on Leadership, Sources of Strength and the best one, Fight Like a Girl. We also toured the campus.

We are now getting ready for our big Dessert Night on March 13 at the Southern Trinity Volunteer Fire Department’s St. Paddy’s Day Dinner. Everyone is welcome at the Community Hall on Van Duzen Road for a evening of dining and dancing.

On our side of the hill, we are hosting the county Presentation Day on March 27 at the Van Duzen School. Clubs from all over the county will take part in different competitions including presentation, demonstration, illustrated talks, educational displays and more. Enjoy ‘Share the Fun’ when all the clubs do some type of skit, dance or some other fun activity.

We hope that our community as well as other clubs will come over to enjoy this fun-filled day! Our club will also be providing a barbecued lunch.

We are also busy with Textile Day sewing projects as well as gearing up for the animal projects for fair.

If you want to join 4-H in our area call grandma Ronie Millsap at 574-6472.
