Lewiston Bridge Lighting and Fireworks scheduled for Saturday evening

Historic Lewiston will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of its Bridge Lighting and Fireworks on Saturday, Nov. 28. The fireworks begin at 5:30 p m. with plenty of activities before and after.

Concession stands and entertainment begin at 3 p.m. Back by popular demand is ventriloquist Colleen Tanenbaum and her humorous friends who will provide a free performance for the children. Free cotton candy will be handed out all evening.

Children age 12 and under can win a ride with Santa Claus as he glides across the old one-lane bridge in his sleigh. There will also be a free drawing to win a giant pumpkin filled with Christmas gifts.

Come early and enjoy a variety of fine food, including the notorious clam chowder bowls donated by Mountain Valley Grill. Also, a variety of chili, hamburgers, hot dogs and sweet confections will satisfy even the heartiest appetites.

Enjoy holiday entertainment from Mountain Mama Music as the sky becomes an array of explosive sparkles around 5:30. Fireworks FX America is back to give another spectacular performance. Join the countdown with Debbie Paul as Santa emerges from the darkness in his sleigh with his winning companion. He will then listen to children's wishes.

The success of this event is the result of work and donations provided by One Maple Winery and the many donations from the community, volunteers, and the support of the food concessions.

For information, call 778-3671. To support this event, send payment to the Lewiston Bridge Lighting Committee, P.O. Box 148, Lewiston, CA 96052.
