Trinity High School hosted the Trinity Invitational cross-country run last Thursday, welcoming 10 Northern California schools and 68 runners.

The course consisted of three miles mixed terrain with gravel and forested trails around the high school. Trinity combined the event into two runs — girls and boys combining JV and varsity together.

Mellisa Palermo finished ninth out of 31 in 22:27, followed by Emily Tkach in 25:23 and Tiana Peet in 26:32.

Scott Minor of Hayfork came in first in 17:03. James Cahill of Trinity crossed the line second out of 37 with a time of 17:37, followed by Chris Watanabe with 17:45 and Sean Taylor with 18:12.

The Shasta Cascade Championships will be held at West Valley High School in Cottonwood today, Nov. 4.
