A SENIOR'S VIEW

I wish some kind legislator would filibuster until all members of Congress will vote against daylight-saving time.
The Animal Kingdom knows it's wrong. The roosters still crow at daylight. Hens lay eggs as usual. Cows are milked according to the standard time. Owls hoot at their regular time and nocturnal animals prowl in darkness.
Daylight-saving time, or DST, to me stands for "Disrupts Sensible Time."
I have a talking clock that has to talk forward. It can't go back. There is one clock that has a little wheel, which I have difficulty finding if it will go clockwise or counter-clockwise. The microwave clock is easy, but the telephone clock I have to ask someone else to reset. When I try, it sets the alarm and awakens me at inconvenient times. The wall clocks I can reset, but hanging them back up, with impaired vision, takes time and a lot of patience.
The computer clock automatically set last week (a week early)!
The cuckoo clock is never right. It cuckoos whenever! My wristwatch is a talker and requires special setting. I usually let it go until I'm attending a social event and some kind person offers to reset.
The answering machines take me several days to change. Sometimes, if I get the time close to correct I just guess approximately when people leave a message.
Why do I have so many clocks? I love clocks and telephones and have both in every room, keeping me informed and happy.
Norma Coen gave me an interesting item. Last week she was driving down Main Street about 7 a.m. when she noticed a California Highway Patrol officer park the car, pick up some trash on the sidewalk and put it in the trash barrel. Norma drove around the block so she could compliment the officer. She didn't get his name, but Norma and I felt it was worth mentioning. That's going far beyond any official duty but deserves a thank you!
Here is something else I think is worth sharing: A message from "Info@GOD.org" — "Hi Everybody, due to the current financial crisis facing the world at the moment, the light at the end of the tunnel will be switched off to save on electricity costs, until further notice."
