Garden hit by vandals

Vandalism and theft to the community garden at Lowden Park will cost hundreds of dollars, said Sonja Williams, coordinator of the Children's Garden Project.

The damage discovered Friday morning included theft of five water timers, a hole cut in the fence, a broken fence post and a broken faucet line, Williams said.

She estimated costs at $500, without labor.

A report has been made to the sheriff's department.
