County offices to close one Friday a month

Starting in November, most Trinity County department offices will begin closing one Friday each month through the end of the fiscal year next June to accomplish an employee furlough schedule Trinity County supervisors argued about adopting last week. More...

Patricia Reid-MacGregor and Nate England will star in the Trinity Players' presentation of "Little Shop of Horrors" which opens Friday at the Trinity Alps Performing Arts Center in Weaverville. The black comedy will be directed by Nancy Amorette Kohl. Performances beginning at 7:30 p.m. are scheduled for Oct. 16, 17, 23, 24, 30 and 31. Matinees will begin at 2 p.m. on Oct. 25 and Nov. 1. Leota May "Kit" Waller, 85, a longtime resident of Trinity County, passed away peacefully in Portland, Ore., Oct. 5, 2009. Mrs. Waller was born Leota May Carson on June 29, 1924, in Pinedale, Wyo. She attended public schools in Pinedale and helped her parents operate the town movie theater, drug store and the post office. More...
BOR changed the release of the water from Trinity Lake two weeks ago to release cold water from the bottom of the lake. This is the first big storm of the new water year and is projected to drop somewhere near 3 to 6 inches into the Trinity drainage.
