Wolves upset Lions' homecoming
      Trinity High School ruined Live Oak's homecoming night when it snuck by the Lions 24-20 for the Wolfpack's fourth straight victory. Trinity's Luke Curran ran the ball 47 yards on the opening kickoff. Even though the Wolves were not able to get to the end zone, Trinity's Justin Jeangerard kicked a 27-yard field goal to make the score 3-0.

MUSICK NOTES
      Hayfork goes into its showdown game with Dunsmuir as the No. 1 rated team in the North State in 8-man football. The Timberjacks will host the Tigers in the Friday, Oct. 9, homecoming game in Ernie Glass Stadium at Hayfork High School.

Hayfork Lady Timberjacks improve for a new year of volleyball
      The Hayfork High School Lady Timberjacks are on a four-game win streak after defeating Redding Adventist 3-1 in the North Valley League opener for both teams Thursday in Redding. The addition of sophomore Emily Arnold to the varsity has helped keep the team on track and added a positive dimension.

Weaverville Wildcats win championship
     The Weaverville Elementary School Wildcats eighth-grade volleyball team won the championship of the 20th annual Humboldt State University junior high school volleyball tournament held in Arcata on Oct. 3. Bradlee Plotzke and Rebecca Watson received tournament All-Star awards. The championship match went to three games against another fantastic Trinity county team from Burnt Ranch. Football fun
      Kids took advantage of the pleasant weather Saturday, Oct. 3, to play flag football on the Trinity High School field. Adult volunteers came together to help the Weaverville/Douglas City Parks and Recreation Department make this year's football schedule a reality. It was the red flags of Lewiston versus the yellow flags of Weaverville.
