FISHING REPORT
      Cooler temperatures for the past week have dropped water temperatures and made for colder mornings. Hopefully this will start the salmon moving up the Klamath and into the Trinity.

Seasonal closure of campgrounds
      Most Six Rivers National Forest fee campgrounds are now closed for the winter. Ranger District campgrounds are closed during the winter due to declining use, to prevent damage to moisture-soaked roads and to reduce the potential for spreading Port-Orford cedar root disease via vehicle travel on unpaved, wet roads. Most campgrounds will reopen prior to Memorial Day weekend.

     Oct. 7, 2009 Saturn passes Mercury in the dawn sky tomorrow. They are low in the east at first light, below brilliant Venus. Mercury is the brighter of the two, with Saturn just a little to its upper left.
