Waves win big at invitational meet

The Weaverville Waves traveled to Etna for the Scott Valley Swim Team's Sharkfest 2009 June 27-28. The meet consisted of seven teams and 275 swimmers from across the North State and Oregon.

Forty Weaverville Wave team members swam in the meet with 13 of the Waves placing in the top-three High Point standings in their age groups. Many of the swimmers swam very well with 42 national "B" times and 25 "BB" time standards being recorded for the Waves.

Relay teams competed with speed and determination, winning first in four different age groups. The Waves brought their team to an outstanding secondpoint standing with 757 points and won a trophy to place at the new Lowden Park facility. The Anderson Aquagators placed first with 1,141 points and The Yreka Swim Team placed third with 610 points. The Waves next travel to the Anderson Aquagators Swim Meet July 18-19.
